Polo Custom Products opened its Monticello facility in 1969. The corporate office is located in Topeka, Kansas with other manufacturing plants in Nebraska and Mississippi. Polo’s Monticello plant employs approximately 130 associates and another 40 associates in their satellite facility 45 miles north in Edgewood, IA. Polo Custom Products manufacturer’s custom sewn, RF welded and compression molded products to several OEM markets including medical, safety, outdoor, and industrial. These products are produced of flexible materials such as vinyl, nylon, urethane, Kevlar®, leather and many other fabrics and films. Much of Polo’s success can be directly attributed to their dedicated associates from the Monticello area and surrounding towns. Their years of service and loyalty to the company have allowed Polo to stay price competitive with the high quality our customers expect. The facility’s high product quality and strict quality systems allowed Polo to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification in July 2002. Polo is dedicated to keep up with changing technology and the cost controls necessary to stay in business by purchasing high-tech equipment and sophisticated computer systems to produce quality products. Some of the latest equipment purchases include automated cutting equipment, automated sewing machines & tackers, robotic gluers, a bar coding system and a shop-floor data collection system with automated attendance software.
